Content Overview
This course is designed to acquire and develop valuable skills and knowledge of communication with the Spanish language as well as an introduction to the culture of Spanish-speaking countries. The length of the Spanish I course will be 34 weeks. The students will use these concepts to perform oral and written assignment.
Listening: understanding/comprehending various stiles of spoken language.
Speaking: communicating effectively to express ideas (pronunciation, accent, vocabulary, and grammar)
Reading: understanding/comprehending various styles of written language.
Writing: communicate effectively in writing to express ideas (vocabulary, grammar, and spelling)
Culture: building up an appreciation of and a tolerance for other people and their cultures.
Course Overview

Pronunciation of vowels and consonants.

Nouns, adjectives and adverbs used to learn about and describe places, people, animals, time, numbers colors, emotions, and activities.

Practical phrases related to salutations, jobs, weather, telling time, celebrations, sports, health and food.

Likes and dislikes.

Expressions with the infinitive verb form.

Present and preterit tense conjugations of regular verbs.

The verbs ser and estar.

The reflexive verbs.

Conjugation of irregular verbs such as: ir, dar, estar, oir, tener, and leer.
